The Garrison Union Free School District has named an interim superintendent for the remainder of the year.
Superintendent Carl Albano had initially announced his retirement after 34 years in public education.
After reviewing candidates based on their experience as a superintendent in New York, their backgrounds in the education system, and their desired salaries, the school board decided that Albano will return as the interim superintendent for the rest of the school year.
This move is expected to bring stability to the district while remaining within their budget.
With Albano in place as the interim superintendent, the board will now focus on the search for a permanent superintendent for the next school year.
