A Rockland County jeweler is trying to make sure that a $10,000 reward that he promised in 2008 for information on Laura Garza gets to the right people.

Barry Fixler, a former Marine and owner of Barry's Estate Jewelry in Bardonia, promised the reward a month after the disappearance of the woman whose remains were discovered in a remote part of Pennsylvania last week.

According to police, a group of ATV riders discovered the remains, but they are still trying to determine exactly who is going to get the reward money.

Fixler says he hopes the reward sends a message to the people who made the discovery. "Hopefully ? they see how great it is to be helpful," Fixler says. "They did a good deed."
