In observance of Yom Kippur, several Jewish communities are actively engaged in combating hunger.
Feeding Westchester organized a food drive to support this cause. Last year's efforts resulted in the collection of over 5,000 pounds of food.
"Yom Kippur is a fast day in the Jewish tradition. In addition to not eating ourselves, we recognize the abundance in our communities and our sacred obligation to give back to the people around us," says Rabbi Fenster, Congregation Kol Ami.
