Televised preacher Joel Osteen's Lakewood church made a stop at Yankee Stadium and took time to help a local Baptist church in need Friday.
Green Pastures church in South Bronx was badly damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The roof had collapsed and paint peeled off the walls. They have since been trying to rebuild, but it has been a slow process.
Members of Osteen's congregation stopped by Green Pastures and lended a helping hand by cleaning the church from top to bottom.
Green Pastures' pastor said he was surprised and grateful that Osteen has shown concern for small churches like his, and was touched to have the help in repairing the damages.
