Mural honors Brooklyn trailblazer Shirley Chisholm at namesake park: The mural can be seen from quite a distance on the Belt Parkway, and beyond, as visitors approach Shirley Chisholm State Park. Brooklyn artist Danielle Mastrion said that’s how she wanted it be, when she was creating the mural.
Restoration of Depression-era Loew’s Theater in Jersey City theater gets boost: The city announced Thursday it has reached an agreement with a historic preservation group to solicit bids for a promoter and venue operator to resurrect Loew's Theatre in Journal Square. The theater was built in the late 1920s and hosted the likes of Duke Ellington, Bing Crosby and many other big names.
