Jurors in the federal corruption trial of City Councilman Larry Seabrook say they have reached an impasse and cannot deliver a verdict. Seabrook (D-12th District), serving in his third term on the City Council, faces 12 charges, including extortion, fraud and money laundering. He is accused of directing taxpayer money into his personal non-profit groups, as well as receiving kickbacks from a local boiler business. If convicted on all counts, Seabrook faces a lifetime sentence.
