No verdict reached in murder of Long Island man during parents’ weekend at Marist College

Johnson is accused of fatally shooting 56-year-old Paul Kutz at the Marriott-Courtyard Hotel.

A Dutchess County jury is deliberating the case of man accused shooting a Long Island man of in the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in the Town of Poughkeepsie last October.
Johnson is accused of fatally shooting 56-year-old Paul Kutz at the Marriott-Courtyard Hotel. Kutz was visiting his son as part of parents’ weekend at Marist College.
Police said Johnson, who was charged with attempted murder and weapons charges, and Devin Taylor were staying there and had guns and bomb making materials in their room. Taylor pleaded guilty earlier and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
Johnson faces life in prison if convicted.
The jury will be back in court at 9 a.m. on Friday.
