Kennedy wins Democratic primary for Newburgh mayor

Judith Kennedy has won the Democratic primary for mayor of Newburgh. She received 573 votes, defeating Omari Shakur, who received 206 votes.Current Mayor Nicholas Valentine was not seeking re-election.

Judith Kennedy has won the Democratic primary for mayor of Newburgh.
She received 573 votes, defeating Omari Shakur, who received 206 votes.Current Mayor Nicholas Valentine was not seeking re-election.
Kennedy says her experience in construction and business will give her the experience to turn the city around.
She will now face Republican Newburgh City Councilwoman Christine Bello in the general election.
