Some Kia owners need to have adjustments made to their vehicles.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration is recalling about 70,000 Sorento and Sportage SUVs from 2016 through 2023.
Officials say a faulty tow hitch can pose a possible fire risk.
NHTSA officials say three fires have been reported but that none caused any crashes, injuries or deaths.
Kia says it will be contacting owners of affected cars, who have been told to park their vehicles outdoors until the problem is fixed.
