Yonkers Mayor Mike Sano and the Department of
Parks, Recreation & Conservation inducted coach James Joyce Sr. into
the Yonkers Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Coach Joyce was an administrator at
Lincoln High School and coached track and field, varsity baseball, girls'
softball and basketball for decades.
The Yonkers Sports Hall of Fame
recognizes individuals who have impacted sports in the city. Those who are
selected are permanently enshrined by the Yonkers Department of Parks,
Recreation & Conservation.
Coach Joyce died last June, and
his son accepted the award on his behalf.
