A coalition comprising over 40 law enforcement organizations is urging Congressman Jamaal Bowman to denounce convicted cop-killer Joanne Chesimard.
According to affiliated police associations, Bowman acknowledged putting Chesimard's name on his "Wall of Honor" at a Bronx middle school where he previously served as principal.
The association argues that Chesimard is not a hero and should not be honored in any capacity. Chesimard was convicted in the 1973 murder of a New Jersey state trooper and escaped from prison in 1979, currently believed to be residing in Cuba.
A spokesman for Bowman's campaign has stated that they have no comment regarding the association's call for denunciation.
