Lawmakers are once again demanding the state put a mass vaccination site in every county as more New Yorkers become eligible for the shot.

There are currently only two state-run vaccine sites in the Hudson Valley - in Westchester and Dutchess counties.

In the coming weeks, the state will open additional facilities in Orange and Ulster counties, leaving Rockland and Putnam residents without a site close to home.

Several lawmakers are sponsoring bills that would force the state Health Department to set up sites in every county.

Officials are concerned about the distances some people, particularly seniors, need to travel to get a dose.

"Rockland County is one of the most densely populated counties in the state, we've had one of the highest infection and death rates in the state, and we need a mass vaccination site in our county," says Assemblyman Mike Lawler.
