A convicted sex offender was arrested Thursday in Rockland County for failing to notify authorities where he was living.
Police say 33-year-old Michael Koval lied about his address which listed South Nyack as his residence. Ramapo police got a tip the level-3 sex offender was living in a townhouse in Montebello, right in front of a community playground.
Koval was convicted in 1996 of inappropriately touching a child under 11 years old. That conviction requires him to notify authorities where he's living within 10 days of a move and police say Koval was there for 25. If convicted of this offense, Koval could spend a year in jail.
