A golf outing turned tragic Friday when a lightning strike at a country club in Walden took the life of a woman.
The victim was golfing with a friend at the Osiris Country Club when the skies opened and rain poured down on the course. The two ran to escape the storm and ended up inside a wooden shed. Authorities say a tree next to the shed was directly hit by lightning. The lightning then carried to the tree roots, traveled under the shed and hit the women inside, killing one instantly.
Police say the other woman struck by lightning is in stable condition at St. Luke's Hospital.
