A lightning strike sparked a four-alarm fire at the Parth Knolls apartment complex in the town of Ossining on Friday evening, according to fire officials.

Six families were assisted from the building as firefighters battled the blaze.

The fire broke out around 7 p.m. in Building 1 of the apartment complex at 87 Hawkes Ave. Fire officials said the Westchester County Cause & Origin team determined that a lightning strike to the roof caused the fire.

Heavy flames were seen near Hawkes Avenue as firefighters worked at the scene.

There is currently no word on any injuries or what may have sparked the fire.

Officials have not released information about any injuries, and it remains unclear whether the building will be deemed a total loss.
