Dozens
of nonprofits joined forces
today to help Hudson Valley residents struggling with food insecurity due to
the pandemic.
Volunteers
from Feeding Westchester assisted with deliveries and distributing food outside
of the Salvation Army in Tarrytown.
Many
community members expressed feeling grateful for the organizations' assistance.
“This
helps 100%, without a doubt,” said
Richard Lewis, of Mount Vernon.
“It’s a big help not just for me, but the entire community.”
Since
the pandemic, the Salvation Army
of Greater New York says it has
served more than 17 million meals to people in need.
