Government leaders in Rockland and Westchester counties are calling on the NYS Thruway Authority to release critical information about the aging Tappan Zee Bridge.

Local officials claim information is being withheld from the public. Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef says in the thruway authority?s safety inspection, less than 30 pages went public and some key information was blacked out. Westchester County Executive Andy Spano also expressed outrage about the matter. They both say they want to know about the condition of the 50-year-old bridge and what needs to be done.

A state highway spokesperson say it was necessary to withhold some sensitive facts in order to protect the bridge from a terrorist attack. However, Vanderhoef and Spano say they want the public to be informed on matters concerning the bridge.
