A little bridge along the Taconic Parkway has been given a new name that carries a rich legacy.
Dozens of veterans from northern Westchester and Putnam gathered at the foot of the Bryant Pond Road Bridge Friday for a special ceremony. The bridge will now be called The Disabled American Veterans Memorial Bridge in honor of the sacrifices made in wars past.
State Sen. Greg Ball helped spearhead the name change in Albany. He says it is his way of saying thank you to the veterans who served so valiantly.
