Make-A-Wish spreads holiday cheer to West Nyack girl
The Make-A-Wish Foundation surprised a 10-year-old West Nyack girl today, giving her a free holiday shopping spree. Megan Slensinski has been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a disease that weakens and enlarges the heart muscle. With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Slensinski was given the chance to redecorate her room with a trip to Macy's. "She looks beautiful," said her mother, Bonnie Slesinski. "I haven't seen her smile and jump around this much in a while." The Make-A-Wish volunteer who helped organize the outing says the charity also helped him when he was diagnosed with lung cancer at age of 15.
