Man arrested in Wallkill road rage stabbing

Authorities say 24-year-old Jahri Evans was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with evidence and menacing.

A car accident on Route 211 in the Town of Wallkill Wednesday ended in a person being stabbed with a large knife during an ensuing altercation, according to state police.
Authorities say 24-year-old Jahri Evans was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with evidence and menacing.
The victim suffered stab wound to the chest and multiple lacerations on their upper body, according to state police.
Authorities say Evans fled the scene and was found by troopers on I-84 eastbound.
Police were seen at the site of the crash and stabbing on Route 211, outside of Walmart, along the entrance ramp to Route 17 for several hours on Wednesday afternoon following the incident.
The victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
Evans is being held in Orange County Jail on $20,000 cash bail and $40,000 bond.
