A Carmel man is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a bear early this morning, adding that he's just glad he was attacked and not his children.
Christopher Head says that he was watching television around 12:45 a.m. when he heard a noise outside. Head says he called police after he realized a black bear was standing in his backyard.
Cops apparently told Head to bang some pots and pans together to scare the bear away, but instead he says he waited to see if the bear would leave.
Head was attacked a short while later when he went to check if the bear had left. He was treated for wounds on his arm and stomach.
