Police are investigating a suicide at the Palisades Center Mall Wednesday evening after they say a man in his 20s jumped from the fourth floor to the basement of the mall.
Authorities didn't close the mall during the investigation, and police say surveillance video has confirmed that the incident didn't involve foul play.
The suicide has led some shoppers to question security measures at the mall.
"First of all, I think the railings are too low," says Kathleen McDermott, of Bardonia. "They should be higher up, and there should be more security at this mall."
Police, however, believe increased safety measures could not have prevented the suicide.
