Police say a man accused of stabbing his roommate to death is being held at the Rockland County Jail without bail.
Juan Aguilar-Galvez, 39, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree murder. His roommate, who has yet to be publicly identified by police, was stabbed to death inside a Spring Valley apartment building early Saturday morning.
Police say the two men were likely drinking before a fight broke out in the hallway of the apartment building. According to authorities, Aguilar-Galvez, who may be an illegal immigrant, used a kitchen knife to stab the victim multiple times.
The stabbing marks the first homicide in Rockland County this year.
