A real-life Forrest Gump made his way through New Rochelle on his run across America.
Rob Pope, of Liverpool, England, is running across the country for charity, following in the footsteps of Tom Hanks' titular character from the 1994 film.
The 38-year-old veterinarian is running to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund and an organization called Peace Direct.
Pope started the challenge last September in Mobile, Alabama, and traveled across the country. When he reached the Santa Monica Pier in California, he took a break, left the state and began running back across the country the other way.
To date, Pope has clocked almost 6,000 miles, even crossing the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday.
