A New Windsor man will spend 10 years in prison for stabbing a sleeping family member, officials said.
Khiyan Bascus pleaded guilty to attempted assault, according to the Orange County District Attorney.
Bascus stabbed the victim multiple times in the face and chest last January, prosecutors said.
He then ran from the scene.
Police later found him in a nearby backyard with blood on his hands.
