Manhattanville University has been awarded nearly $1 million to enhance its teacher preparation programs.
The money is from a grant issued by the New York State Office of Strategic Workforce Development and the State University of New York.
It will fund the proposal "Teaching Assistant to Teacher of Record: Investing in Our Local Workforce."
That course will be part of the Education Workforce Investment Alternative Teacher Certification Program.
It will start this July and take place over the course of four years.
