Many Middletown businesses close in support of nationwide boycott

Many Latino business people in Middletown closed shop Monday to show support for "A Day Without Immigrants". Grocery stores and delis were among a number of local businesses that closed down and area residents felt the impact. They were hoping to send the message of how important immigrants are to the U.S. economy. Some area residents felt it was the wrong way to make a point by turning customers away and losing business. Others supported the work stoppage whole-heartedly saying it shows the power of the people.
