A U.S. Marine from Westchester is fighting for her life and remains hospitalized after she was seriously injured in a car crash last month in Harriman.

Micka Nugent underwent emergency surgery at Westchester Medical Center. Family members say she remains there.

Nugent was injured April 12 in a collision on Route 17.

Family say she was a sergeant in the Marines and managed an elite martial arts school in New York City up until the crash.

State police say the accident remains under investigation.
