Officials in Newburgh were out investigating the home of their future mayor one day after she was elected to lead the city.
City code inspectors showed up unannounced at Judy Kennedy's home as part of an investigation into the future Newburgh mayor's living arrangements. It was sparked by City Councilwoman Christine Bello, who lost this week's mayoral race to Kennedy.
"I definitely know for sure she does have rooms rented on the second floor, but that was not my complaint. My complaint is that there is an apartment on the third floor," Bello says.
Kennedy says she is not focused on issues such as her home, but is working on issues she will be faced with when she gets to City Hall.
"It's really time for us to get on to work and to do what we need to do," she says. Judy Kennedy wins Newburgh mayoral raceNewburgh mayoral candidates clash over senior housing complexVoters head to polls for Primary Day
