Over the years, Memorial Day has come to mean different things for many Bronx residents.
For many, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer and is spent at the beach or by the pool. Many Bronx residents take the day off and relax with their families. However, some residents will attend parades and events around the borough to remember fallen soldiers.
One resident feels that though Memorial Day was originally a day to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty, it is now a day to remember all veterans who have served in the armed forces.
