Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, is unveiling new oversight policies to protect younger users.
Meta officials also say they will hide "age-inappropriate" content, like nudity and posts about eating disorders from those who under 18 years old.
A former Facebook employee testified before a Senate subcommittee months ago saying that top Meta executives ignored warnings about the potential harms that are visible on their platforms.
The changes are expected to go into effect later this year.
