Police arrested an escaped parolee linked to a 1990 murder after a standoff in Middletown Friday.
Officials say 40-year-old Donald Carrington escaped from the custody of Monroe police Thursday night after he was taken in for possession of stolen property. According to authorities, Carrington made his way to Middletown, where he hid inside a second-floor apartment at 24 Broad St.
Police say Carrington served time for burglary and for his role in a homicide in Blooming Grove.
Following his arrest, Carrington has been turned over to Monroe police. He is now facing a number of charges, including escape and possession of stolen property.
