2h agoMiddletown Public Works loaded trucks with salt and filled their gas tanks ahead of the snow that is expected to fall overnight into Saturday morning.
The Middletown Public Works garage is prepared to deploy 12 trucks Saturday morning.
"We have trucks assigned to basically every inch of the city," said Public Works Commissioner Jacob Tawil.
Middletown Public Works has no concerns about overkill --it's their strategy.
They have 4,000 tons of salt, and for the upcoming weekend, they plan to use about 250 tons.
Workers at the SB Beauty Bar said 3 to 5 inches is not going to shut them down or even force them to open late on Saturday.
Some of the stylists said they will just walk to avoid the tricky, windy Middletown streets. Still though, they said one should be OK going carefully in the right vehicle.
"I would be careful in a smaller car. Like trucks, four-wheel drive is good up here," said the SB Beauty Bar's Jazmin Stewart.
Fresh off a major water system repair on Thursday night that kept everyone up late, Tawil will send much of his team home early to rest up before they hit the streets at 6 a.m.
