St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Millbrook will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 4, at 9:30 a.m.
The service, led by Father Richard, invites members of the community to bring their animal companions to the church for a special blessing. Animals of all kinds are welcome. For those whose pets cannot attend, organizers encourage people to bring a photograph or favorite toy in their place.
The celebration honors St. Francis of Assisi, who is remembered for his deep love of animals and the natural world.
This year’s gathering will also feature Jim Archer of Elk Ravine Farm in Armenia, who will speak about farm life, animals, and the relationship between people and the creatures in their care.
The Blessing of the Animals will be held rain or shine.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church welcomes families, friends, and animal lovers from Millbrook and the surrounding community to join in this annual celebration of faith, creation, and the animals who share our lives.
