A racially charged Snapchat post that's gone viral has landed a Minisink Valley High School student in hot water.

The student is accused of taking a picture of a female African-American classmate, posting it on Snapchat and referring to the student as the 'N' word. The post went on to say the student should be lynched.

Caleb Kinzonzi, the girl's brother, says the boy didn't have her consent to take the photo and share it on Snapchat. He took to social media and posted video to hold the student accountable.

Minisink Valley School Superintendent Brian Monahan responded to the incident on the district's website saying, "The district has no tolerance for hateful language or any type of conduct that endangers the physical or emotional sense of safety and security of our students and staff."

District officials say disciplinary action has been taken against the student and that authorities have been notified.

The victim's family has hired an attorney. The Orange County District Attorney's Office says the case will likely be handled in family court.
