The search for a Yonkers man who went missing in November came to a tragic end when his body was discovered in the Hudson River.
James Anthony Devine, 29, was an Irish immigrant who worked as a carpenter in New York City. He went missing on Nov. 30 after a night of drinking in Manhattan at the Galway Hooker pub on East 36th Street. Devine got separated from a group of friends.
Police say an 18-year-old man was fishing near Riverside Drive, by the George Washington Bridge, when he spotted the body Thursday. The body was later identified as Devine.
After Devine went missing, friends and family desperately passed out fliers on McClean Avenue in Yonkers, near where he lived, and in Manhattan in hopes of finding him.
Police are now investigating how Devine died.
