An Orange County man was killed in a hit-and-run in the town of Newburgh Friday morning.
Police say it happened just before 8 a.m. in the area of Old Little Britain Road near Unity Place.
Police say they found the victim next to a vehicle that was broken down on the side of the road.
Investigators say 65-year-old Walter Weiser, of Monroe, appeared to be trying to change his tire when he was struck by a passing vehicle that did not stop.
He was later pronounced dead.
Police are looking for the vehicle and asking anyone who traveled in that area Friday morning to contact them.
