Monroe man stabbed in midnight ambush attack

Josue Fabian Huilca Rea, 20, and Jony David Perez Sanchez, 26, both of Monroe, waited outside the victim's residence on Higgins Trail and attacked him with a knife just after midnight Tuesday, according to state police.

Two people are now in custody after a man was ambushed and stabbed outside a home in Monroe.
Josue Fabian Huilca Rea, 20, and Jony David Perez Sanchez, 26, both of Monroe, waited outside the victim's residence on Higgins Trail and attacked him with a knife just after midnight Tuesday, according to state police.
The victim was first taken to Aizer Health Center in Kiryas Joel and later transferred by Kiryas Joel EMS to Garnet Health Medical Center. He is in stable condition.
Huilca Rea was charged with assault in the second degree, gang assault in the second degree and menacing inthe second degree. Perez Sanchez was charged with assault in third degree, gang assault inthe second degree and menacing inthe second degree.
