The Monroe-Woodbury school community is saying goodbye to their longtime superintendent, just as families and staff prepare for the start of the school year.

Elsie Rodriguez retired Friday after 39 years in education.

Rodriguez says she’s been "blessed" to work doing something she loves and that she’s now looking forward to spending more time with her family out of state.

Dr. Tracy Norman is taking her place.

The district shared photos from Rodriguez’s final day on their Instagram page and said in a post, “We wish Mrs. Rodriguez a retirement complete with sunshine, smiles and new adventures. Thank you for all you’ve done for the students and families of Monroe-Woodbury.”
