A Monticello man has been convicted of murder following a five-day trial in Sullivan County Court.
Prosecutors say 27-year-old Jonte Wunner intentionally beat and fatally shot 42-year-old Jose Rodriguez in October.
He then wrapped the corpse in a tarp and dumped it at the Woodridge Rail Trail.
The district attorney says Wunner faces 33 years to life in prison when he is sentenced in November.
This is in addition to the 35-year sentence he received in May for a shooting in upstate New York.
