WHAT TO KNOW:
  • Snow flurries are expected this afternoon, especially in Suffolk County. Little to no accumulation.
  • Wintry mix is expected tonight. A coating of snow is possible on the north shore.
  • We're pleasant Monday and Tuesday.
  • Next storm is Thursday. Slippery conditions possible Wednesday night before transitioning to all rain on Thursday.
  • Next weekend could bring minor snow accumulations Saturday evening or a wintry mix before it transitions into rain early Sunday morning.
Grab the umbrella and the snow brush, we have a wintry mix on the way this evening. Today is dry and cold for the most part with increasing clouds. A few snow flurries are expected this afternoon in Suffolk County with little to no accumulation. This evening a wintry mix will move onto the island with a minor coating of snow expected on the north shore. Visibility will be reduced and conditions could be slippery starting at 8 p.m.
The Monday morning commute will be dry, and any lingering slippery conditions from overnight won’t last long. Temperatures will be well above freezing Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon with highs in the 40s.
The next storm arrives overnight Wednesday and will start off with wintry mix. Slippery conditions are possible for the Thursday morning commute, but temperatures will rise into the 40s by Thursday afternoon so any winter precipitation will transition into rain.
Next weekend will bring another minor snowfall Saturday evening. Temperatures will be mild on Sunday so the storm may bring a wintry mix instead. This is still a week out, so confidence is low.
Pick of the week?
The work week starts off quite nicely! Monday will be cloudy, but otherwise pleasant with highs in the mid 40s and light wind. Tuesday is sunnier, but mild in the morning and early afternoon. It will be breezy Tuesday afternoon, and temperatures will drop by Wednesday.
