The mother of an Orange County manslaughter defendant was allegedly assaulted by a member of the victim’s family outside of Orange County Supreme Court in Goshen last month.
News 12 confirmed the allegations with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Horace Duke’s mother, Sherise Singletary, was assaulted April 24 - the same day her son was convicted by a jury of manslaughter.
Duke fatally stabbed Town of Wallkill grandfather, Joel Laddy, during a road rage incident last October.
Laddy’s daughter, 41-year-old Patricia Parker, is charged with assault and harassment and was issued an appearance ticket to return to Goshen Village Court May 24.
News 12 reached out to Parker for comment but have not yet heard back.
Singletary provided News 12 with photos of her injuries. She said she was attacked, pushed to the ground and had her hair ripped out during the incident.
