Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard is revealing stronger efforts to deal with abandoned housing in her city.
The mayor says dozens of so-called "zombie houses" are in the process of either being renovated or completely demolished.
She says more than 90 of the dilapidated properties have been identified over the past year and a half.
A total of 75 of the homes have already been cleaned up.
The mayor says nine other properties are in the process of being demolished.
