The MTA is offering new promotions to get commuters back on the rails.
The transit authority's new OMNY pilot program is launching Feb. 28, and offers promotional fares for riders.
Commuters will have two programs to choose from: A 20-trip ticket that's 20% cheaper than 20 one-way fares and a 10% discount on monthly tickets.
The MTA is also slashing subway fares.
"Riders tapping into the system with OMNY would be charged the standard $2.75 rate for their first 12 trips and that starts every Monday, and then after the 12 trips, every trip will be free," says Sarah Meyer, the MTA’s chief customer officer.
