The second annual Muslim heritage festival began at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla Sunday.
Many people turned out to the free public event to celebrate the religion’s history and traditions.
"It's better to know what a person's about, to share cultural events, the food the music, art. It's a beautiful thing to do that,” said festival co-host Joseph Boykin.
From traditional attire, jewelry and the beauty of henna tattoos, there was something for anyone interested in Muslim culture.
Zoon Naqvi was also a part of the event, fulfilling her purpose of helping women victimized by Taliban extremism.
