Nanuet school district opts into Rockland County's School Bus Safety Program

Nanuet Union Free School District is the latest district to opt into Rockland County's School Bus Safety Program.
Officials say the program's goal is to better protect children by adding cameras to the stop-arms on school buses.
Data shows that every day in New York about 50,000 drivers illegally pass stopped school buses.
Nanuet's decision comes only weeks after Pearl River School District got involved in the program.
Drivers caught passing illegally on camera will have to pay a $250 fine.
