Long Islanders are dealing with freezing temperatures and gusty winds. Take precautions to stay warm. There are several warming centers open across Long Island.
NASSAU COUNTY:
Mitchel Field Administration Building
- 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Uniondale
- Open 24 hours
Cantiague Park Administration Office
- 480 W John St, Hicksville
- The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. NCPD will transport anyone remaining after 4:00 p.m. to Mitchel Field.
Wantagh Administration Building
- 1 King Road, Wantagh
- The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. NCPD will transport anyone remaining after 4:00 p.m. to Mitchel Field.
SUFFOLK COUNTY:
Riverhead Senior Center
- Center will be open Jan. 21 2025 and Jan. 22, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as a warming center.
John J. Flanagan Huntington Senior Center
- (Flanagan Center Open Monday – Friday Only)
- 423 Park Ave, Huntington
- 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
