Nassau and Suffolk warming centers open amid freezing temperatures
Long Islanders are dealing with freezing temperatures and gusty winds. Take precautions to stay warm. There are several warming centers open across Long Island.

NASSAU COUNTY:

Mitchel Field Administration Building
  • 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Uniondale
  • Open 24 hours
Cantiague Park Administration Office
  • 480 W John St, Hicksville
  • The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. NCPD will transport anyone remaining after 4:00 p.m. to Mitchel Field.
Wantagh Administration Building
  • 1 King Road, Wantagh
  • The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. NCPD will transport anyone remaining after 4:00 p.m. to Mitchel Field.
SUFFOLK COUNTY:
Riverhead Senior Center
  • Center will be open Jan. 21 2025 and Jan. 22, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as a warming center.
John J. Flanagan Huntington Senior Center
  • (Flanagan Center Open Monday – Friday Only)
  • 423 Park Ave, Huntington
  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
