Lawmakers in New York are working to secure abortion medication as the fight to protect abortion rights wages on.  

A new bill would provide free abortion pills to abortion-seekers.

Supporters say the bill will further increase abortion access in the state and keep the state's promise to make New York a safe harbor for abortion care.  

New data shows that medication abortion accounts for more than half of all abortions nationwide.
