Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann reported on Facebook that Optimum is working to resolve the internet outage in the New City area.
The outage was caused by Saturday's storms, which also resulted in nearly 1,000 residents losing power due to downed trees and power lines.
According to Hoehmann, Orange and Rockland Utilities completed pole replacement, and Optimum is rebuilding over 400 feet of a major trunk line. However, no specific restoration time has been offered yet. Extra staff is working to fix the problem and restore services as soon as possible.
