A new Ferris wheel opening today in Times Square offers great views and vaccine incentives, but not all New Yorkers are willing to take a ride.
Anyone who received or receives their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination between Aug. 1 and Sept. 12 will be eligible to receive 1 of 100 free rides on the Ferris wheel daily as long as you have proof of vaccination.
If you don't win a free ride, tickets can be purchased with prices ranging from $15 to $35.
But when Mayor Bill de Blasio invited New Yorkers to "Take a ride at the Crossroads of the World" on Twitter, not everyone shared his enthusiasm.
Some Twitter users simply poked fun at the mayor.
But others took the opportunity to criticize the mayor for what they see as an unnecessary attraction.
What do you think about the Ferris wheel? A great addition or a waste for the city? Let us know in our Twitter poll.
